Maldives Imposes TGST on Foreign Tour Operators as Guesthouse Sector Convenes

From October 1, the 17 per cent TGST applies to inbound tourism products and related agency and booking services supplied by businesses without a fixed place of business in the Maldives. The government is targeting 2.5 million tourist arrivals in 2026. Resort and guesthouse owners are seeking refurbishment capital, management partners and buyers.
